Any current or incoming FFA members that would like to exhibit projects for the State Fair next week please bring to the agriculture building Sunday, August 6, from 4-6pm. Items can be field crops, fruits and vegetables, flowers, woodworking and metal working projects. Questions please refer to the link in the newsletter sent out earlier this summer or contact Mrs. Schreiman. All members are eligible to exhibit!

Pictured is August Giffen hooking up hydraulic hoses for his baler so that he can get ready to square bale hay for his Forage Production SAE within the FFA. August completes all aspects of his Forage Production SAE and also has corn and soybeans to complete a Diversified Crop Production SAE within the FFA. August is a second year Santa Fe FFA member and the son of Phillip and Amy Giffen of Marshall. Pictured is Gavin Nolte weed eating while working for Evan's Lawncare in Marshall, MO. Gavins main job is to weed eat at all job sites. Once the mower makes the first pass, Gavin will trim the areas that the mower cannot get to make the lawn look presentable. Each day is different, with traveling to residential and commercial areas. Gavin is a three year member of the Santa Fe FFA Chapter and the son of Hanna Nolte of Blackburn. Pictured is Kale Dierker mowing a pasture on his farm that they keep cattle on so that the cattle do not get injured. Kale helps with all aspects of their farm from planting to harvest and all areas of their cattle operation. Kale is a first year FFA member and the son of Konrad and Stephanie Dierker of Blackburn. Pictured is Laney Ballenger making pulled pork nachos while working for Riley's Rollin Kitchen in Marshall. Laney is heating the pork on the grill to be used for the nachos that a customer ordered. Laney takes orders and then makes the food items for the customers. Riley's Rollin Kitchen does "roll" to many different towns and events around the area and Laney helps with these events as well. Molly received 4th and 6th places in her classes with the two barrows that she brought to show. Pictured is KMMO Larry Smith interviewing Molly Malter at the District FFA Fair on July 10th in Warrensburg. Along with showing Swine Molly is also the Area VI Secretary and had officer duties at the fair as part of her officer position. Molly's interview was live on KMMO that day. This is a great way to learn public speaking skills to become comfortable in that environment. Pictured is Sophia Bolser as the judge evaluates her goat and Karlea Bolser with her goat set for the judge at the District FFA Fair at the Johnson County Fairgrounds in Warrensburg on July 10. Both girls had a great day at the District FFA Fair Goat show with Sophia placing 1st in her class with her Market Goat. Karlea placed 1st with her Senior Doe, 4th with her Junior Doe, 3rd with her Junior Doe, 1st with her Yearling Doe, and 2nd place with her Market Goat. Karlea had a great night in the arena placing 3rd in Showmanship, 4th in Bareback, 3rd in Horsemanship, 3rd in Western Pleasure, 3rd in Trail, 1st in Barrels, 1st in Poles, 2nd in Flags.
