Santa Fe Elementary Retirees

We would like to congratulate the recent retirees from Santa Fe Elementary School and thank them for their many years of service to the Santa Fe R-X School District.

Albert Zumalt has retired after keeping the building and grounds at Santa Fe Elementary School in tip-top shape since 1978.  Albert has worked tirelessly to keep us up and running and looking our very best.  He will be missed not only for all his arduous labors, but his cheerful smile in our building every day.

After 33 years of teaching, Tammy Zumalt has joined her husband, Albert, in the list of our recent retirees.  Tammy began her time at Santa Fe in December of 1986 as a high school guidance counselor, then taught 3 years at St. Peter’s in Marshall before joining us again at Santa Fe.  Tammy will be missed in the classroom and also for her leadership on so many committees over the years.  Don’t be surprised when you see her at her post behind the scorekeeper’s table at our athletic events.  We aren’t letting go of her completely!!

Cathy Rogge is hanging up her apron here at the elementary school after cooking delicious breakfasts and lunches for the students and staff for the past 15 years.  We will miss her bubbly laugh, not to mention the counter full of goodies!  Congratulations Cathy, enjoy your new found time with your grandkids.

Counseling is a sometimes taxing, but mostly rewarding position that Nancy Peters has lovingly filled for the past 26 years at Santa Fe Elementary.  Nancy taught 7th and 8th grade at Miami, Missouri for 5 years before staying home a bit to start a family, and then eagerly beginning her counseling career at Santa Fe in 1995.  We want to thank her so much for her years of patience and love given to our students.

A student, a volleyball coach, and a teacher at Santa Fe, even in retirement, she bleeds red and black.  Kim Bishop, a Lady Chief through and through has retired after 29 years of teaching at Santa Fe Elementary.  She has taught 2nd, 4th, 5th & 6th grades at Santa Fe Elementary as well as coaching the Santa Fe Lady Chiefs Volleyball Team.  Throughout her tenure at Santa Fe School District, Kim has encouraged all with whom she has worked with the importance of demonstrating Santa Fe Pride.
