Biographical Information

Hello!! I am Nancy Peters and I'm very proud to work as the Elementary School Counselor at Santa Fe.  I grew up in Hermann, MO; all of my family is still in that area.  I met my husband, Paul, at Mizzou.  The summer of 2015 we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary.  We have two great kids.  Kate and Sam both attended college at Mizzou. They are both employed  in the area; it is nice to have our family together. I enjoy reading, being creative and spending vacation time by saltwather. Our family enjoys spending time together and we are all the biggest Missouri Tiger fans around.  Go Tigers!! MIZ-ZOU!!!

Guidance & Counseling Programs

at Santa Fe Elementary

Santa Fe R-X District has adopted the Missouri Comprehensive Guidance Program. The program allows for classroom guidance activities.  I visit all classrooms one time per week to present lessons on personal/social development, academic development or career exploration.  I am also available to students for group and individual counseling.

Each year the 5th and 6th grade classes have an opportunity to participate in a program we call Changing Bodies.  We call on our friends at the Lafayette Country Health Department.  Students receive information about the growing and changing bodies of adolescence.

Through grants from outside agencies, we are able to provide weekly therapy for students who are in need of this resourse.  Typically the therapist come to the school to see the student and there is no cost to the family.  If you believe your child could benefit from the program please contact the elementary school and ask to speak to the school counselor.

The Santa Fe Elementary tries to provide the DARE progam for our 5th grade students.  We will do this each year as long as a DARE officer is available to teach the class.
